Some things can be best expressed in words. Some in song. And then some things… well, some things are best expressed via a night of literature read aloud with a live musical score (oh and fried pies)!
Personal Space is a pre-Valentines Day event exploring themes of love, sex, loss, complex relationships, and the cosmos, featuring live-scored dramatic readings of short fiction, poetry, and essays by Mickayla Juroff, Asha Vos, and Eric Thompson, with music by Travis Tench and Owen Tharp of Tinca Tinca, Cecilia Wright, and Jaq.
This is the Super Bowl of live-scored creative writing in Knoxville (we heard there's a football game happening that night, too). Also it’s FREE (but the writers and musicians would appreciate a Valentine’s Day show of love in the donation jar).
Bring your friends and snack on a tasty Dale's Fried Pie (available for sale before the performance) as you are immersed in love's complexities through stories set in outer space. (FYI, some content may not be suitable for children).
