From the Artist:
The paintings and drawings in my show, Between Here & There, are inspired by the images and memories I’ve collected while living in Okinawa, Japan and also traveling here in the Pacific. Many represent the moments when you've left one place and haven’t arrived at the next.
This show also includes a grid of paintings and drawings inspired by my father’s experience in Okinawa, Japan in 1964 and my experience 50 years later. Our time spent on this island is very different and complex. But from the memories of his time here and love of the culture, I’ve been motivated to explore and see as much of Okinawa as I possibly can, much like he did.
