Join us for an opening reception for Just Blousing: New Work by Beth Meadows.
About the Work: There's a scene in Christmas Vacation where Chevy Chase gets tongue tied talking to a sexy lingerie saleswoman at a department store. "I'm just blousing, browsing… I was just looking for something for my wife, God rest her soul…"
Besides this being a ridiculous and funny scene in one of my favorite movies, there is something pretty deep going on here, something we are inundated with every day. (More about the work to come!)
About the Artist: Beth lives and makes artwork in Knoxville, Tennessee where she graduated with a BFA in Studio Art in 2007. She grew up in Memphis, but decided to settle in East Tennessee mainly because of her love for the Smoky Mountains.
She co-founded and manages 17th Street Studios near downtown Knoxville, serves on the Biscuit Art Committee for the International Biscuit Festival, and shows artwork frequently around Knoxville. You may view and purchase her work at withbearhands.com.
Beth's other interests include thrift store shopping, hiking, traveling, sewing, and running.
